[Now Sports] Liverpool announced on Thursday that Scottish defender Andy Robertson will leave the club at the end of the season, ending his nine-year career with the Reds. The 32-year-old Robertson will be the second player, after Salah, to leave the club after the season. The official statement quoted Robertson’s thoughts on leaving: “I will often look back on the wonderful memories at this club. In these nine years, I gave my heart and soul to the club, and I have few regrets.”
The Scottish captain has made 373 appearances for Liverpool, winning two Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy. He was particularly relied upon under former manager Jurgen Klopp. With the arrival of Kakas this season, Robertson’s playing time decreased significantly, so he did not renew his contract with the Reds after it expired at the end of the season.
“This club will always mean a lot to me, and so do the fans. It’s been a fantastic journey,” he continued.
