The race for next-generation game consoles hasn’t officially begun yet, but the tension is already building. While Sony remains tight-lipped about specific details of the PlayStation 6 (PS6), the latest rumors online suggest that Sony may not launch just one new console, but rather a lineup of three different hardware components for the PS6 generation launch.

According to well-known YouTuber and leaker “Moore’s Law is Dead,” citing sources, Sony plans to release three hardware devices in the PS6 generation:
A high-performance console: equipped with the rumored high-end “Orion” chipset, offering stronger performance and a higher price;
A standard console: using the relatively lower-end “Canis” chipset, targeting a more affordable market;
A brand new handheld console: also based on the “Canis” chip, capable of running games locally, rather than just supporting streaming.

This leak quickly sparked widespread discussion within the industry. Currently, Nintendo has achieved great success in the hybrid portable market with the Switch 2, Microsoft has officially entered the handheld console arena with the “ASUS ROG Xbox Ally” in partnership with ASUS, and Valve’s Steam Deck is also performing steadily. Against this backdrop, it is widely believed that it’s only a matter of time before Sony releases a handheld console capable of running PlayStation games natively.

Sony has yet to issue any official statement regarding PS6 hardware information. Players and industry professionals should remain rational and await further official announcements.
