Replaced is a 2.5D sci-fi retro-futuristic action platformer developed by Sad Cat Studios. It was officially released on April 14th for PC and Xbox Series X, with a launch date of Xbox Game Pass.

Today, IGN officially released its review of the game, giving it only a 7 out of 10 and criticizing it as “unremarkable.” This contrasts sharply with IGN Germany’s previous review, which gave it a 9 out of 10 and a strong recommendation. This article only excerpts the overall review from IGN headquarters:
Its combat does indeed sometimes “miss the point,” the side quests are almost entirely lackluster, and the stealth sequences take a while to get going.

Even so, Replaced remains a pixel-art-driven action platformer that keeps you completely immersed – from the tense and exciting laboratory escape at the beginning to the captivating climax more than ten hours later, it’s hard for me to put it down.

Despite the fact that this game is an adventure themed around artificial intelligence and has many “bugs that need to be updated and fixed” at the system level, Sad Cat Studios still deserves praise for creating such a captivating and beautiful 2.5D action platformer.
